Happy Sunday makers! We’ve been super busy this week in the studio; Alexis and I have been trading off on the sewing machines trying to get a bunch of new samples sewn for our photoshoot on Tuesday. Our spring pattern release is only a few weeks away, and I have a long page of to-dos that are slowly getting checked off. Spring is also (finally!) on its way, and it’s hard not to be optimistic and excited about the coming year when the sun is out and shining after such a long winter. I hope you’re all finding time to dust off your sewing machines for fun warm weather makes!
Speaking of spring; how light and pretty is this oversized floral skirt from The Demented Fairy?
The Dramatic Sleeve of the Week award goes to Marie and her metallic 1930’s inspired top.
It makes me really happy that Stephen West is out in the world and as popular as he is (I lost it watching his Spice Girls spoof video). This interview with him on Apartment Therapy sums up his amazing spirit.
These semi-cropped flares from Sallie are aces.
Super fun metallic overall shorties from Anneke.
I am utterly in love with this origami inspired outfit from ReDpants Designs.
I’m feeling Casa Crafty’s colour blocked take on the maxi cardigan.
Another fantastic pair of mega high-waisted Ginger jeans from By Gum by Golly.
Rachel’s raw denim trench is gorgeous.
Buffy is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary and I am desperately searching for this week’s EW with Buffy and Spike on the cover. I’ve started rewatching it (yet again), while following along with recaps from the Buffering podcast.
Is it too early to claim the best book of 2017? I am reading Lincoln in the Bardo, the new novel from George Saunders for my book club (so.much.fun.) and it is everything I could have hoped; inventive and playful with his characteristic extreme empathy and wit. Listening to this interview on the Bookworm podcast deepened my appreciation even more.
