Our latest pattern addition, The Pauline Dress, is a super pretty and versatile dress that changes dramatically depending on the view. In View A you get simple sleeveless sheath dress with a fitted bodice, pretty back detail and pencil skirt to the knee. View A features a statement sleeve, square neckline and tiered and gathered skirt to the ankle. Romantic and pretty, this dress is the perfect pattern to showcase a stunning fabric. Initially when we were working on this dress we also had a higher neckline option we tested (which you’ll see some of here) but ultimately felt it was too many pattern pieces (how many facings??!) on an already fairly tissue heavy pattern. We might be seeing this neckline again in the future though (*winkwink) so if you find yourself preferring those options, fear not. As always, our intrepid and crafty team of testers put together some beautiful versions of this dress and gave us all kinds of good feedback, which in turn, made this dress a really special make with lovely style lines and thoughtful construction. We have lots of help for this pattern coming to the blog in the near future so you can have an easy time sewing this up for yourself and to tackle any tricky adjustments you might need to make. But first, let’s take a look at our lovely testers and their versions of Pauline.
So whaddya think? Are you gonna make yourself a Pauline??
