We have ambitious plans this year to release twelve patterns in extended sizing (seven older patterns in addition to five new ones!) and are looking to expand our testing pool. Interested in pattern testing for us? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Intermediate sewists, or confident advanced-beginners. You should be familiar with using sewing patterns and feel comfortable executing basic skills like installing zippers, finishing necklines, setting in sleeves etc.
- Sewists who fall in our 14-30 size range, with larger busts since we draft for a D cup. Full bust measurements 42-58″, hips 45-61″.
- Able to take well-lit photos of garments while you’re wearing them so we can correctly assess fit.
- Interested in sewing construction, comfortable following directions and able to articulate where clarity or corrections are needed to improve instructions and construction order.
Our testing process is very important to our pattern development. We thoroughly read feedback, assess fit and implement changes suggested by our testers to ensure our patterns fit well and are as easy to assemble as possible. In general, we give a week to prepare for sewing and two weeks to make the finished garment, with an in-depth survey to be filled out at the end of the testing process. We do not pay for testing, but do provide a store-credit for an additional pattern for each testing round. You are never obligated to share, review or promote our patterns as part of the testing process. While we sometimes share testing photos after launch since our customers like seeing patterns on a variety of figures, we only do so with permission and granting permission is not a requirement to test for us.
If you’re interested in joining our testing group, please fill out our testing form here!
