Australian Sewing Blogs!

Australian sewing blogs

Hi! I’m Nat from Sew Outnumbered, guest blogging today while Heather traverses the west coast on her final week of holidays. Heather’s Instagram posts of spectacular scenery and delicacies are taking me back to my recent 4-day mini break to the beautiful Barossa Valley in South Australia. Ahhhhhh…. vineyards, the most amazing food in the country, delicious red wine…I even rode a BIKE, like with pedals and everything, for the first time in over 10 years!! Call it leisure? Call it pain? Either way, those dreams will be with me until we meet again sweet Barossa.

Whooosh! Ok, back to reality… today I’m interrupting your usual CCF program with a mid-week special of What’s New in Sewing Blogs, the Oz Edition. There are some seriously talented ladies down our end of the planet. Here are a few for your viewing pleasure…

Liz has whipped up yet another gorgeous Negroni Archer mash for her boyfriend’s birthday present. Lucky guy!

Click! Who doesn’t need a camera skirt in their lives? Amanda is rocking it in this one.

Barbara has us all dreaming of cocktails by the beach in her new flowy floral skirt.

Lizzy is feeling the summer vibes too with her version of the Fumeterre maxi skirt.

Kat has killed it with her autumn/winter capsule wardrobe round up! I don’t know about you but I’m still working on the plans I made this time last year.

We all saw Carolyn’s incredible completely self-made outfit a couple of weeks ago did we not? Similarly, Nicki has been sharing elements of how her #1year1outfit is coming together, most recently it was clay buttons and fabric dying. I can’t wait to see the final ensemble!

And I finished my Refashioners get shirty project just in the nick of time.

My holidays may be over for now but I plan to reminisce by reading along with Ros’ new online book club accompanied by a big bowl of this strawberry sorbet!

Like a cheerful sewing plague, Frocktails is taking over the Australian sewing community. A girl with a new self-made dress and a cocktail in her hand is a force to be reckoned with, no? So far this year Melbourne and Canberra have been frocking it up with Perth and Brisbane joining in the next few months. What do you think? Could we turn Frocktails international?

Here are some rad ladies to follow on my social media of choice, Instagram.

  • Sandra is a sewing encyclopaedia. I dare you not to learn something from her.
  • Laugh your socks off at Nicki’s hilarious modelling poses.
  • Natalie Jane had me at flamingo midi skirt.
  • Style radiates from the gorgeous Sophie. You must be following her already, surely?
  • Julia Bobbin has been on bloggy sabbatical since her recent bub but she’s still alive on Insta and making me laugh every. time.

And finally a stunning freebie download with which to plaster the wallpaper of your laptop, mobile or device of choice.

Big thanks to Heather for having me here today! Don’t be a stranger. I’d love to hear from you sometime on my blog or over on Insta. See ya!
